Airport Guide

There are only a few things that need little introduction. The world’s busiest airport, Dubai International Airport, is one of them. The DXB, a major hub for Dubai Flights, is located in the Al-Garhoud district and has a remarkably modern architecture.

The other airport is the Al Maktoum International, popularly called the Dubai World Central. It is located in the buzzing and lively Dubai South. With almost all of Dubai’s attractions in close vicinity, the DWC is a beautiful sight for sore eyes.

Dubai International Airport (DXB)

With over 7000 acres of land, the DXB has three terminals and four concourses. To help you catch your flights to Dubai and to make you understand how this massive airport works, let us divide it down for you.

The Terminal 1, also concourse D, handles all the third party airlines and houses mostly international passengers from the British Airways, Saudia, Air India, Air Canada, Air China, etc. It is also directly connected to the Dubai metro, ensuring a hassle-free journey for its international travelers. The terminal has three lounges, with two of them being fee-based.

Terminal 2 caters primarily to the gulf region passengers and low-cost airlines like Air India and FlyDubai, offering the most affordable airfare to Dubai. The terminal has a single lounge with prepaid passes.

Terminal 3 is truly a masterpiece. While the introduction may sound a little dramatic, trust us that it's true. The largest airport terminal in the world and the second-largest building globally, the terminal deserves every praise it gets!

The concourses A, B, C, are included in this terminal. It is also the most modern and famous region of the airport. With five glorious lounges, the terminal offers a fee-based stay for one-time international travelers.

While flights to Dubai from the US are priced decently at approximately 700-800$ on an average, the plane tickets to Dubai for the most popular route (John F.Kennedy International Airport, New York to the Dubai International Airport) is priced a little cheaper at 650$.

If you’re not particularly looking for a direct flight, you can find several cheap flights to Dubai from the USA, starting at just 450$!

We would suggest you choose a mainstream, popular airline, but if you’re looking to spend money once you’re in Dubai and not before, there is no reason why you shouldn’t choose the cheapest deal available.

The ‘pearls’ in Dubai

Before we sing praises of the city’s modern, picturesque skyline and great wonders and persuade you to book the next Dubai flights, let us explain what we mean by the ‘pearls’ of Dubai.

A long time before the Japanese discovered how to make artificial pearls, merchants in Dubai dived into the oceans, searching for the white embellishment.

Since then, the Arabs have continued to procure pearls from the ocean’s depth, naming the act ‘Pearl Diving.’

So if you see a piece of beautiful pearl jewelry in Dubai the next time you visit, chances are, it's the real deal. And you shouldn’t miss out on it. The same goes for the following attractions on this list.

  • Burj Khalifa

The number one holiday hot spot in Dubai is its enormous 830m tower called the Burj Khalifa. The world’s tallest building has around 124 floors with countless shopping centers and eateries for you to explore.

Out of all these places, one truly stands out. The observation deck, where you’re whizzed away by a super-speed elevator, is the building’s most popular destination.

Don’t miss out on its night-time glory when lit with beautiful colors as part of Dubai’s colorful illuminated panoramas.

  • The Bastakia

If the middle east reminds you of wealthy people, vintage houses, and colorful bazaars, the Al-Fahidi neighborhood won’t disappoint you one bit.

With their limestone houses and traditional wind towers, the wealthy Persian merchants (famous for pearl diving) settled in the area during the 19th century.

Deeper into the streets, you’ll find the famous Majlis Gallery and plenty of wonderful Iranian cafes.

  • Dubai Creek

Clean and vibrant, the Dubai creek divided the city into two smaller towns. The northern Deira and the southern area are called the Bur Dubai. The former is full of markets and spice shops while the latter houses its glorious human-made attractions.

At first, it first attracted fishers and pearl divers and later became the hub of traditional sailings. A moment in time before Dubai’s oil business started, the dock is a significant part of the city’s history.

  • Jumeirah Mosque

The most beautiful of Dubai’s mosques, the Jumeirah, is an excellent example of traditional Islamic architecture. It is made to imitate Egypt’s Al-Azhar museum. The. The Jumeirah is particularly exquisite at night when lit up with lights.

  • Dubai Mall

The entrance to Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Mall, is in close vicinity to the Dubai aquarium, making it the perfect trio. An arcade, an ice rink, a massive cinema complex, and the world’s best restaurants, there is hardly anything you wouldn’t find here.

  • Dubai Museum

Built during the 18th century, the fort has previously been the monarch’s house, government seat, garrison, and prison.

When it was restored in 1995, a museum with Dubai’s most prized possessions was set up.

Best season to visit Dubai

The beginning of the year is absolutely the best time to visit Dubai. From November to April, the weather is pleasant. It is incredibly appropriate for certain outdoor activities.

  • Winter

January and February see heavy tourist traffic due to Dubai’s famous shopping festival, thereby leaving the hotel rates and airfare to Dubai higher than ever. However, if you book your tickets in advance, you might save up!

  • Summer

From April to November, the temperature in Dubai hits anywhere between 28-48. This makes it very difficult for tourists to go out, especially when they come from places with lower temperatures. However, the flights to Dubai are cheaper, and you can shop your heart out in all those air-conditioned malls.
