  • Don Muaeng International Airport

Don Muaeng Airport is the second international airport in Bangkok for  tourists. Before the opening of Suvarnabhumi International airport, this airport was the main international airport for  tourists. 

This airport is also the oldest international airport in Asia. Today, Don Muaeng Airport offers both international and domestic flight services. Tourists and other passengers prefer this airport due to the availability of low-cost airlines.The  Royal Thai Air Force owns this airport while Airports of Thailand (PCL) operates this airport. 

Don Muaeng International Airport is closer to Bangkok compared to Suvarnabhumi International Airport. 

You cannot find a lot of airlines traveling from the US to Don Muaeng International Airport. However, AirAsia Airlines and Scoot Airlines do extend their services. 

This airport also provides facilities like WiFi services, comfortable lounges, a post office, and information desks for all passengers. They also have emergency facilities like Medical services and a pharmacy. You can also find prayer rooms.

  6. There are rarely any direct flights to Bangkok. So, you may have to go for connecting flights. 
  7. Make sure you’re there on time or some time in advance for the connecting flights. 
  8. US citizens do not require a visa. However, make sure your passport has a validity of a minimum of six months.

According to us, the best time to visit Bangkok is during the months between November and March. 

Summer Season: The months of March, April, May, and June observe the summer season. There is a sudden increase in the temperature that can make it hard for you to truly enjoy Bangkok. The temperatures can rise as high as 90 degrees during the daytime. You may also encounter rain showers on some days. 

Additionally, due to it being the peak season, the hotels are fully booked. The prices and airfare to Bangkok may also go high.
